Thinking of flying in to Aviatex?
Unfortunately there will be no hardstand parking available as all hard stand areas allocated to the event will be required for airshow display aircraft and event exhibits.
Aircraft parking for those chosing to fly in will be on the grassed areas south east of the runway intersection
The aircraft parking areas are limited, so please be mindful of this when parking your aircraft and try not to leave large spaces between aircraft. Event staff / marshals will be in attendance to assist pilots and direct aircraft in order to make the best use of the space available. Once you have shut down and exited the aircraft please make your way to the event entry gate at the most eastern point of the aircraft parking area.
Admission to the Friday trade day is FREE for all attendees
Access to Aviatex Aviation Trade Show during the airshow days of Saturday and Sunday is included in the airshow entrance ticket.
Tickets to the Wings Over Illawarra airshow are available now online from the Wings Over Illawarra website and will also be available at the gate on the day.
For those planning on flying in during the airshow days of Saturday and Sunday, plan to arrive before 09:30 on both days as a TRA will be in place and YWOL will be closed for the display at 10:00 Saturday and Sunday. Any aircraft arriving after 09:45 may be turned away.
Planned air display times are as follows
Saturday 1030 - 1700
Sunday 1030 - 1700
A point to note for pilots planning on flying in over the weekend is the finish time for the air display, this may cause some last light issues for those planning on departing following the display. Please bear this in mind when planning your trip.
Pilots wishing to attend both days are welcome to fly in Saturday and fly out Sunday, and while there is overnight accommodation in the area, unfortunately there is no accommodation at the airport itself.
