Aviatex 2018 has been cancelled to ensure a brighter future in 2019

After much deliberation it has been decided to cancel Aviatex for 2018. This was certainly not an easy decision, given the volume of work that has gone into the preparation for the event over the past 12 months, but a decision we believe is in the best interest of the event and all the stakeholders.

Unfortunately, the timing of Aviatex 2018 has meant it very closely follows four established aviation industry events and this has had a significant impact on the event. The majority of businesses within the aviation industry simply don’t have the resources or finances to be able to attend all of these events. This has not only impacted on potential sponsors and exhibitors but has had a significant impact on the symposium with many influential members of the industry keen to be involved but unable to.

“Given the above, and the direct impact it has had encouraging exhibitors to participate in the event, the concern is that if Bright Events Pty Ltd continued with the event in 2018, it will be a far cry from the Aviatex event that all stakeholders were looking for, and in fact could hurt the reputation of the event before it has a chance to prove itself” said Mark Bright, Director of Bright Events Pty Ltd.

“This has also come at a considerable cost financially to Bright Events Pty Ltd and if the event were to continue as planned, these costs would further escalate and become significant to the company. As such we believe that the best way forward is to concentrate on making the 2019 event the major aviation industry event in NSW that we strongly believe it will be and schedule it when it will not clash with any other planned events.” said Mr Bright.

Bright Events Pty Ltd is currently in negotiations to partner with another like-minded organisation to assist in making Aviatex a much-anticipated event on the aviation industry calendar. Combining the knowledge and experience of the team at this organisation, with the experience of Bright Events, we believe will ensure Aviatex 2019 will stand out amongst other industry events around the country, paving the way for future growth.

The venue for Aviatex 2019 is yet to be confirmed.

Mr. Bright said, “This is certainly a disappointing outcome, but a decision we feel will be best for the event moving forward, and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused.”
